Calgary Family Day Weekend Guide

Family day weekends is upon us, and despite the cold, there are lots of awesome activities to help make it a memorable weekend! We've gathered our favourites below.  

1.Noolympics at Tavernetta YYC

Ages: All, but catered to 18+

Time: Sunday 1:00 pm

Where: Tavernetta, 1002 Edmonton Trail NE, Calgary, AB T2E 3K2

Cost: $5 per person with $6 drinks

Tavernetta had teamed up with 88-Brewing, Craft Spirit Collective, and Campari Canada for an afternoon of games, prizes, food and drinks! Teams of 4 will battle it out for prizes and glory. The games will take place outside, but thankfully the cold won't be an issue as there will be lots of heaters. The games are $5 per person will all proceeds going to the Distress Centre.

2.Soul Bowl 2

Time: Saturday 6:00pm - 12am

Where: Paradise Lanes, 3411 17 Avenue Southeast Calgary, AB T2A 0R3

Ages: All

Cost: $20

Bowling, dancing, and live music from 10 local bands, Soul Bowl is sure to be a blast! Entry includes shoe rentals, unlimited bowling and 6 hours of live music. The line up is as follows:

3.Family Day at Studio Bell:

Where: Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre 850 4 St SE, Calgary, AB

Price: $11-$18

Ages: All ages

Presented by Boardwalk Rental Communities, Family day at studio bell will feature Canadian children's singer-songwriter, Fred Penner! He will be playing two sets at 11 am and 2 pm. Penners sets will be supplemented by many local musicians, instrument-building workshops, NMC collection show and tell, instrument demos and campfire sing-alongs!

4.Swim for Free

Location: Multiple

When: Monday 1-4:30 pm

Price: Free

5.Skate for Free

Location: Multiple

When: Monday 1-2:15pm

Price: Free
